Beware of Dating App Scams
An airport security officer in Argention was arrested for running a life-threatening dating scam.
News broke across the internet during the last week of June.
A 31-year-old Lucia Fernanda Diaz Da Mota found men on dating apps, take them to dinner, go home with them, drug their drinks until they passed out and robbed them of watches, phones, perfume, and luggage.
Security cameras caught her entering an elevator with a 64-year old victim while kissing him. It’s believed that about 2 hours later she drugged his drink. Once certain the man was unconscious, she filled a large suitcase with a substantial amount of cash, credit cards, expensive watches, luxury perfumes, and branded clothes found in the apartment, and quickly fled.
The victim was in a coma about 24 hours later after neighbors checked on him.
When investigators raided Diaz Da Mota’s home they found luxury watches, men’s cologne, and suitcases believed to belong to multiple victims.
She was arrested at Ezeiza Airport while on psychiatric leave and authorities are now investigating whether she was working alone or part of a larger criminal network.
